JAKARTA: PT Anugrah Karya Raya (AKR Coal), subsidiary of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA), Indonesia’s leading integrated supply chain solutions provider and largest private sector distributor of petroleum and basic chemicals obtained one year coal shipping contract for supplying 780,000 metric tons.

The first export shipment of coal from a coal mine in Central Kalimantan has been departed from Indonesian Bulk Terminal, Central Kalimantan on March 31, 2012, using Vessel Super Max MV Mandari River.

The vessel shipped 52,900 metric tons of coal within 2 days from the terminal. Unfortunately, there is no further explanation on the shipping contract.

The steam coal was sold to an International trading company, with whom AKR Coal has entered into an annual contract. The contract is for GAR 5,000 Kcals/kg with low sulfur and ash, said Haryanto Adikoesoemo, President Director AKR Corpindo in an official statement.

AKR Coal successfully used sufficient number of time chartered barges to bring the coal from AKR Coal’s own loading jetty in Buntok Kecil, Central Kalimantan to IBT in order to realize this shipment on schedule.(T03/aph)
